Data Engineer - Cloud / Microsoft Azure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Spark, and Scala to support various data processing and analytics needs.
  • Implement Data Workflows: Utilize Azure Data Factory to orchestrate and automate complex data workflows, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation processes.
  • Optimize Data Storage: Implement and manage Delta Lake for efficient and reliable data storage solutions, enabling faster query performance and data reliability.
  • Manage Data Lakes: Work extensively with Azure Data Lake Gen2 to handle large-scale data storage, ensuring data is organized, secure, and easily accessible.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Ensure Data Quality and Compliance: Implement best practices for data quality, security, and compliance, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize: Diagnose and resolve issues within the data pipelines and workflows, optimizing performance and ensuring system reliability.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience working on real projects with Azure Databricks, Spark, and Scala (experience with PySpark is not applicable).
  • Proficiency in using Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Lake Gen2.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in English (N/A)

  • This is a remote position; however, you must reside in Spain for occasional face-to-face meetings.

You will work 100% remotely from wherever you decide. Sometimes you may have face-to-face meetings and for that reason you have to reside in Spain.
