Project Background: We are embarking on an ambitious project to migrate a suite of applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The primary focus will be on migrating our PDS (Product Data System), which is projected to experience a fourfold increase in volume in the upcoming months. This migration is critical to support our growth and scalability goals.

Role Overview: As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, guiding our team through strategic decisions on whether to replatform or rearchitect applications. Your expertise will ensure that we adopt the most effective and efficient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of applications to GCP, with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Evaluate and determine the best approach for each application—whether to replatform or rearchitect.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud solutions using GCP.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Implement and manage DevOps pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Optimize data workflows using Composer/Airflow.
• Leverage BigQuery for data analysis and management.
• Integrate Kafka & Pubsub for reliable data streaming and messaging.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Deep understanding and hands-on experience with GCP services and solutions.
2. Terraform: Proficiency in infrastructure as code, ensuring scalable and repeatable cloud deployments.
3. DevOps (preferably GitHub Actions): Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development and deployment.
4. Composer/Airflow: Expertise in orchestrating complex data workflows.
5. BigQuery: Strong knowledge of data warehousing solutions and query optimization.
6. Kafka & Pubsub: Experience with real-time data streaming and messaging systems.

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on GCP.
• Proven track record of successfully migrating and scaling applications in the cloud.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with a C1 level of English proficiency.

You will work 100% remotely from wherever you decide. Sometimes you may have face-to-face meetings and for that reason you have to reside in Spain.
