Cloud Operations Engineer – Microsoft Azure

Job Description:

As a Cloud Operations Engineer , you will be at the heart of our Azure platform operations — driving monitoring, compliance, cost optimization, and automation across the cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with the Cloud IT team to ensure system reliability, performance, and security, while also implementing best practices in line with company standards.

You'll leverage tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Azure DevOps , making an impact through automation, advisory, and proactive improvements in the Azure landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage Azure environment performance , backups, and compliance.

  • Generate and analyze Azure consumption reports and provide cost optimization advisory .

  • Ensure adherence to Azure security best practices , including follow-up on security scores.

  • Implement automation scripts using Terraform, Python, and related tools to increase operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with IT and Cloud teams to support smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Support patch management, sizing analysis , and infrastructure optimization.

  • Maintain and evolve Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous improvement.

  • Participate in project planning , operations strategy, and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  •  4+ years of experience in Cloud Operations or a related role.
  •  Solid hands-on experience with Azure and Azure DevOps .
  •  Working knowledge of Terraform, Python , and Jira Service Management .
  •  Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and Azure infrastructure .
  •  Good grasp of monitoring, alerting, and logging tools .
  •  Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  •  Effective communicator and team player with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes , or containerization technologies.
  • Familiarity with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies .
  • Awareness of security and compliance standards in cloud environments.
  • Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-204) are a plus.

You will work 100% remotely from wherever you decide. Sometimes you may have face-to-face meetings and for that reason you have to reside in Spain or in the European Union.
